Patient Experience
How Mayo Clinic measures patient experience
Mayo Clinic uses numerous tools and methods to collect patient experience feedback from patients, including the nationally standardized survey known as HCAHPS. This feedback is used to understand patients' experiences and to learn about opportunities to improve care at Mayo Clinic and Mayo Clinic Health System.
Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS)
The HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) Survey is a national, standardized, publicly reported survey of patients' perspectives of hospital care. Since 2008, HCAHPS has allowed valid comparisons to be made across hospitals locally, regionally and nationally. To view the latest published results for any of our hospitals, visit the Care Compare website.
