Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Bluish color of the skin
  2. blurred vision
  3. chest tightness
  4. diarrhea
  5. dizziness
  6. fast, slow, pounding, or irregular heartbeat or pulse
  7. fever
  8. headache
  9. hives or welts, itching, or skin rash
  10. hoarseness
  11. irritation
  12. itching of the vagina or genitals
  13. joint pain, stiffness, or swelling
  14. nervousness
  15. pain or tenderness of the skin
  16. pale skin
  17. pounding in the ears
  18. redness of the skin
  19. severe stomach cramps and pain
  20. sore mouth or tongue
  21. stomach tenderness
  22. swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, hands, legs, or feet
  23. thick, white vaginal discharge with mild or no odor
  24. trouble breathing or swallowing
  25. unusual bleeding or bruising
  26. unusual tiredness or weakness
  27. watery or severe diarrhea, which may also be bloody
  28. white patches in the mouth or on the tongue

Incidence not known

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. blood in the urine or stools
  3. chills
  4. cough
  5. lower back or side pain
  6. painful or difficult urination
  7. pinpoint red spots on the skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Nausea

Less common

  1. Bleeding, blistering, burning, discoloration of the skin, infection, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, redness, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site
  2. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  3. double vision
  4. feeling of warmth
  5. feeling that you cannot keep your eyes open
  6. increased sensitivity of the eyes to light
  7. redness of the face, neck, arms, and occasionally, upper chest
  8. seeing floating spots before the eyes
  9. sore neck, shoulders, or back
  10. sore, tired, burning, or itching eyes
  11. trouble concentrating
  12. trouble sleeping
  13. vomiting
  14. watery or dry eyes
