Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bladder pain
  2. bleeding gums
  3. bloody or cloudy urine
  4. blurred vision
  5. body pain
  6. cough
  7. coughing up blood
  8. diarrhea
  9. difficult, burning, or painful urination
  10. dizziness
  11. falls
  12. fever or chills
  13. frequent urge to urinate
  14. headache
  15. increased menstrual flow or vaginal bleeding
  16. loss of taste or smell
  17. lower back or side pain
  18. muscle pain
  19. nausea
  20. nervousness
  21. nosebleeds
  22. pale skin
  23. paralysis
  24. pounding in the ears
  25. prolonged bleeding from cuts
  26. red or black, tarry stools
  27. red or dark brown urine
  28. slow or fast heartbeat
  29. sore throat
  30. stuffy or runny nose
  31. swelling
  32. trouble breathing
  33. ulcers, sores, or white spots in the mouth
  34. unusual bleeding or bruising
  35. unusual tiredness or weakness
  36. vomiting

Less common

  1. Agitation
  2. anxiety
  3. chest pain or tightness
  4. coma
  5. confusion
  6. decreased urine output
  7. depression
  8. heart stops
  9. hostility
  10. inability to speak
  11. irritability
  12. lethargy
  13. lightheadedness
  14. muscle twitching
  15. no breathing
  16. no pulse or blood pressure
  17. pain, redness, or swelling in the arm or leg
  18. pain or swelling in the arms or legs without any injury
  19. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  20. rapid weight gain
  21. seizures
  22. severe or sudden headache
  23. slurred speech
  24. sneezing
  25. stupor
  26. swelling of the face, ankles, or hands
  27. temporary blindness
  28. unconscious
  29. weakness in the arm and/or leg on one side of the body, sudden and severe

Incidence not known

  1. Bone pain
  2. chest discomfort
  3. dark urine
  4. darkening of the skin
  5. fainting
  6. increased hunger
  7. loss of appetite
  8. mental depression
  9. nervousness
  10. nightmares
  11. problems with vision, speech, or walking
  12. shakiness
  13. skin rash
  14. stomach pain, severe
  15. swelling of the fingers, hands, feet, or lower legs
  16. swollen glands
  17. unusual drowsiness
  18. yellow eyes or skin

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Constipation
  2. decreased appetite
  3. trouble sleeping

Less common

  1. Lack or loss of strength
