Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Incidence not known

  1. Chest pain, discomfort, or tightness
  2. cold, pale, or a bluish color skin of the fingers or toes
  3. continuing loss of appetite
  4. continuing or severe nausea and vomiting
  5. continuing or severe stomach pain
  6. increased frequency of urination
  7. irregular heartbeat
  8. itching skin
  9. lower back pain
  10. numbness or tingling of the fingers or toes
  11. pain in the fingers or toes
  12. pain in arms legs, or lower back, especially pain in calves or heels upon exertion
  13. sweating
  14. swelling of hands, ankles, feet, or lower legs
  15. weakness
  16. weak or absent pulses in the legs

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Blurred vision
  2. change or loss of consciousness
  3. cold clammy skin
  4. decreased awareness or responsiveness
  5. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  6. headache
  7. nervousness
  8. numbness, tingling, pain, and bluish color of the fingernails, lips, skin, palms, or nail beds
  9. pounding in the ears
  10. seizures
  11. severe sleepiness
  12. slow or fast heartbeat
  13. sweating
  14. unusual tiredness or weakness
  15. vomiting

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

  1. Burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  2. dizziness or lightheadedness
  3. feeling of constant movement of self or surroundings
  4. sensation of spinning

Other side effects not listed may also occur in some patients. If you notice any other effects, check with your healthcare professional.
