Teamwork Teamwork

Mayo Clinic's urologists work together to provide individualized care to each patient.

Welcome — what’s it like to visit Mayo Clinic Urology?

In Mayo Clinic Urology, we care for complex patients from all over the world. We would like to welcome you and guide you through what you can expect for your urologic treatment at Mayo Clinic. You've placed great trust in us in coming to our facilities or connecting with us virtually. We want you to know that our top priority is the care that we provide to our patients.

At Mayo Clinic, we have a unique care team model that allows us to ensure the needs of the patient come first. Some care team members that you'll encounter during your care include physicians, advanced practice providers, also known as APPs, residents, fellows, and nurses. Your care team of experts will work together to provide you with individualized treatment options. From the moment you check in, we want your experience with our team to be seamless. Our friendly desk staff will escort you to your urology appointment to meet with your provider. During your appointment, you will meet your provider to discuss your urologic health. Together, we will evaluate your condition to determine your care plan.

Our APPs, fellows, and residents, are an important part of our care team. These individuals will likely participate in your care and partnership with your physician.

Along the way, you will also likely speak with a nurse as part of your care, and our schedulers will assist you with coordinating any appointments that may be necessary for your urologic care. We recommend that you create and regularly check your Mayo Clinic Patient Portal account, which will give you direct access to your medical information, appointment schedule and instructions, test results, and consult notes before and after your care here.
